Front Office Staff Training

          The purpose of this workshop is to clarify the roles and responsibilities of front office staff in the 4 phases of emergency management.

Participants will be able to:

Assess strengths and weaknesses of visitor screening procedures and tracking of visitors.
Make recommendations to district steering committee on procedural changes that would improve visitor screening.
Assess process of maintaining staff and student emergency release data.
Assess strengths and weaknesses of student release procedure.
Make recommendations to district steering committee on procedural changes that would improve parent/child reunification.
Assess vulnerability issues related to front office.
Make recommendations to building crisis team regarding improvements in safety and communication for front office.
Clarify role and responsibilities in communication before, during, and after crisis.
Assist with identification of students affected by trauma and loss.
Respond more effectively to defuse to angry visitors or students.
Respond to bomb threats.
Maintain the contents of the incident command emergency kit.
